change change change

That heading is not so much about the election buzzword, but change for everyone.
To whit, I'm all sorts of excited about many things right now, among them, my upcoming CD release next week, and the return to Mysore in October. Yay for more practice at AYRI, experiencing the country in general and also seeing the progress of my friend Tracy's organization Operation-Shanti, an organization dedicated to helping the world's poorest better my lives. I've been sponsoring one of the children attending the school so it will be neat to meet him as well. It feels good to give back. That said, there's a lot of good going on right here, in San Francisco, including the work of Girls for Change, a national organization who local chapter is directed by a former schoolmat. Girls "empowers thousands of teen girls to create and lead social change...[and] supports girls in fully developing their voice, ability, and problem solving capacity to realize their full potential." If you're interested in volunteering and in the Bay Area, you may want to check out their volunteer trainings next week.

"Dont you know
Theyre talkin bout a revolution
It sounds like a whisper"
— Tracy Chapman
