the case for mad scientists

A local San Francisco instrument builder and composer, Walter Kitundu, won a MacArthur Grant, aka, a genius grant! The inventive 'sound artist' who lives in the Western Addition in an apartment full of instruments is in company with astrophysicists, biologists and urban farmers and has no plans of changing too radically. It's so heartening to know modern-day Davinci's are alive and in our midst. Other winners include music critic Alex Ross and sculptor
