After the full weekend I went home and watched the Jonathan Demme music doc about Neil Young "Heart of Gold" (2006, I'm off the back here). I've been starting to cover that old gem of a tune and watching this movie, which captures Young's show at the Ryman with his posse of musician friends and longtime bandmates, just months after he underwent a risky operation for a brain aneurysm, re-reminded me why Neil songs come back to me again and again. Just rent it.
